The Royal College of Chiropractors has been in contact with Health Education England, a government body currently involved in facilitating the recruitment of appropriate personnel to assist with the COVID-19 RAPID RESPONSE effort, to discuss how Chiropractors could help. It is recognised that Chiropractors have a range of transferable skills that could be particularly useful now and in the weeks to come.

If you have not already done so, can we encourage you to register interest in helping with the rapid response effort. Doing this does not necessarily mean making a firm commitment, but if a significant number register it will mean that chiropractors will be considered in the workforce planning. Note that in some areas of the country, most notably Dorset, chiropractors are being actively sought to assist.

You can register your interest by visiting NHS Professionals at: https://www.nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk/rapid-response/register.html

Insert your details and choose 'Other Registered Healthcare Worker' from the drop-down list.

In the box that appears prompting you to specify professional experience, we recommend you insert the following:

GCC-registered Chiropractor with patient communication, history taking, care planning, patient-handling, record-keeping and referral skills, able to assess vital signs and apply infection control policy/procedures.

You may not get an immediate response as many professional groups are involved, but you will hear back in due course.
