The government has recently published the latest EU exit transition period guidance setting out what will happen to registration for those healthcare professionals either currently registered, or applying to register, in the UK once the transition period ends on 31 December 2020.
If you registered through our EU route you can continue to practise as now, and you need to take no additional action other than retaining on the register as usual. If you have recently applied to retain your name on the register for 2021, this will be processed and you will remain registered.
If you have recently applied for registration through our EU route, we will process your application as usual on that basis, whether or not it is completed before the end of the transition period.
Those wishing to apply for registration through our EU route must do so before 11pm on 31 December 2020. Our international route, which includes passing the Test of Competence, will apply after then.
