Practising as a full-time chiropractor is a fulfilling and rewarding career. However, it is not the only option for registrants. Chiropractors can choose many other career options, either as an alternative to clinical practice or to add breadth and variety to their role in private practice.

In April’s newsletter, Sharon Oliver, GCC Education Committee Chair, outlined mentoring, education and research roles open to chiropractors. To help registrants find out more about these possible career options, the GCC has published its new Career Pathways section in the Registrant Resource Centre

Divided into training, academic, research, NHS and committee pathways, each section provides an outline descriptor of the opportunities alongside helpful links and contact details.

Several new video blogs have also been included to supplement the career pathways information. Produced in association with the Royal College of Chiropractors, registrants describe their experience of changing from or adding to their clinical practice work and the professional and personal value that they have gained from these various roles.
