Statement following Gateshead and South Tyneside inquest

The below is issued following the publication of a "Preventing Future Deaths Report" by Coroner Leila Benyounes:

Throughout the inquest our thoughts have been with Ms Kowalczyk’s family and friends, as they have relived the circumstances of Joanna’s sad death.

We expect chiropractors to provide good quality care that is patient-centred, safe and effective, and that is consistent with the current standards for good healthcare practice. We will be carefully considering the important concerns raised by the coroner in her report, and will respond directly to her.
