Equality, Diversity and Inclusion draft policy

The GCC has produced a new draft Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy, which reinforces our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

It is important to the GCC to be a fair and inclusive regulator. We intend that everybody should be equally able to access our services and be treated fairly and supported when doing so.

The draft policy restates the GCC’s aims to:

• promote equality and diversity in all our regulatory activities, embedding fair and inclusive processes, practices and culture, promoting equality of opportunity and access to the chiropractic profession;
• continue to value diversity and embrace it through our recruitment and collaboration with our partners and stakeholders;
• create and sustain an inclusive and diverse organisation, which champions a culture of respect and dignity.

Nick Jones, GCC Chief Executive and Registrar, commented: ‘Equality, diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our work at the GCC and this new draft policy will place these important issues at the heart of our approach and strategic direction. As ever, we are keen to hear views from across the profession and education, patients, members of the public and our wider network of partners to help us develop our stagey and action plan.’
